R.K. Parmu, "A History Of Muslim Rule In Kashmir 1320-1819" (1969)
p337: "Kashmir suffered devastating effects of famine and civil strife caused by the followers of Mahtavi Khan in 1748."
[Given that Mahtavi Khan had been dead for decades, and does not seem to have had a significant posthumous following, this is likely to be a mistake. However it is quite possible that the famine of 1745-6 was continuing under the unpopular Mughal subedar (governor) Afrasiab Khan, who was at the time facing a potential Afghan invasion]
